Joanne brings both compassion and strategic thinking to the role of Executive Director of the Cole Resource Center. Her experience as the caretaker for several family members with mental health challenges is coupled with her 30 years of professional experience as the Founder and CEO of an award winning Boston based consulting firm. Joanne has a B.A. in Organizational Behavior from Lesley University.

Brian graduated summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts, Lowell and cum laude from the Massachusetts School of Law. He is a Certified Peer Specialist and is currently pursuing a master's degree in mental health counseling from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Living with both depression and anxiety, Brian is focused on fighting stigma and working to ensure that others living with, and affected by, mental illness have access to the resources and care they need to lead positive and healthy lives in recovery.
ellen faran, MBA | Treasurer, Strategic Advisor
Ellen’s retirement avocation is helping families who are dealing with mental illness. She is a co-teacher of the National Association of Mental Illness course Family-to-Family, a member of McLean’s Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC), and a member of the Family Advisory Committee for the Metro Boston Recovery Learning Community. Ellen has a B.A. in English from Radcliffe College and an M.B.A from the Harvard Business School. Throughout her career she held senior positions in book and journal publishing.
