CRC’s Workforce Development Program

CRC’s Workforce Development Program offers coaching and community support to those living with mental health challenges as they find their next career steps and pursue their life goals.

The Workforce program supports job seekers in two ways:  individual coaching with an experienced job counselor, and the online Job Club (drop-in group meetings).

Program content.  The program addresses job hunting skills (networking, resume writing, the application process, interviewing) with particular attention to the issues important to those living with mental health challenges (identifying the right next step, motivation, employee rights, and disclosure options).

One-on-one coaching.  Individual meetings, currently held online, are scheduled as needed and may include help with resume writing, evaluating job opportunities, and preparing for interviews.

Job Club.  Online Job Club meetings offer Workforce program participants both useful information and time for sharing and discussion.  Presenters include program staff specialists, guest speakers, and participants.  The Workforce staff share their own experience and use materials that they select from authoritative outside sources.  The Job Club currently meets weekly on Mondays from 1-2 pm.

Workforce program staff. The program is staffed by Neil Wilson, CPS, CRC’s Workforce Program Specialist, who has a professional background in job counseling, along with others from the CRC team.  Please note that CRC staff are not professional social workers, therapists, or other clinicians.

How to apply.  The first step in the Workforce program is an introductory phone conversation with our job counselor.  You will have a chance to learn more about the program and see if it fits your current needs.  To schedule a call, please email workforce@coleresourcecenter.org.

Thanks to philanthropic support, the Workforce Development Program is provided to CRC clients free of charge.  We are grateful to the donors who make this possible.
